Day 3 - A Harvest-Producing Rain

"Ask the Lord for rain in the time of the latter rain. The Lord will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain..." Zechariah 10:1

Most of us who are attuned to God's Spirit have come to believe that a great harvest of souls is on His immediate agenda. Throughout history, great outpourings of the Holy Spirit have been accompanied by a great harvest of souls. The first such outpouring took place, or course, on the Day of Pentecost. That day, people were refreshed, revived, empowered, and filled with joy. Soon thereafter, 3000 souls were saved, and this great harvest of souls continued in the fledgling Church on a daily basis. As the harvest grew ever larger, people in the affected areas became alarmed and persecution broke out against the Church. Consequently, the disciples needed another wave of empowerment so they could remain faithful to God.

Taken from "Living in the Glory Every Day" - David Herzog

My thoughts:

Ex 16:10, "While Aaron was speaking to the whole Israelite community, they looked toward the desert, and there was the glory of the LORD appearing in the cloud."

The glory of God can be manifested in the form of a cloud. Hence, the phrase 'Glory Cloud' is used at times.

One thing I found interesting in the book "The Mysteries of the Glory Unveiled" by David Herzog was that you can see the glory cloud but we need to know how to get the cloud to manifest rain - the harvest-producing rain. That happens when we have 'knowledge of the glory', knowledge of that cloud, to get it to rain. Hence, we need the 'knowledge of the glory' to see the heavens opened and the mysteries of the glory unveiled!

"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea" (Habakkuk 2:14)

Day 2 - A Revival of Signs and Wonders

"...tell John... that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them..." Luke 7:22-23

God seems to package revival in such a way as to attract only those who are desperate for Him. The hungry are somehow able to see what God is doing through strange new circumstances, rather than judging by outward appearances. When people are expecting God to bring revival in the way they have known in the past but it actually comes in a totally different form, it seems easy for them to reject it. It is sad that they keep waiting for something else to come along when something new is already happening. In the days ahead we will see many of the same miracles that accompanied Jesus, and these signs and wonders will also be too many and too diverse to be recorded.

Take from "Living in the Glory Every Day" - David Herzog

My thoughts: Mark 16:17-18, "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Acts 14:3, "So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to perform signs and wonders."

Romans 15:18-19, "I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done— by the power of signs and wonders, through the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ."

The gospel is power - Romans 1:16. Signs and wonders indeed follow those who believe! May we see a restoration of the things the first church experienced!

Day 1 - The Spirit of Elijah

Malachi 4:5, "Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord"

We are seeing the restoration of the spirit of Elijah upon the Church. In this new move of God, there is not only an increase in signs and wonders, but there are also unusual creative miracles (including resurrections from the dead), angelic visitations, and the restoration of key revelations, mysteries, and truths that have been lost through the centuries. Some of the things we are experiencing are familiar, but many things are brand-new - another wave of greater glory. It has been more than 50 years now since the last great miracle revival took place and 50 years since Israel became a nation. God ordained that Jubilee, the restoration of all that has been lost, occur every 50 years. This is the time of restoration.

Taken from "Living in the Glory Every Day" - David Herzog

My thoughts: I like the word restoration. It means we had it before, and we lost it - now God is restoring it back to the Church. In the days of the first church, there were miracles, signs and wonders happening at an unimaginable magnitude, and the disciples had all things in common, no one lacked anything. Isn't the time ripe for a restoration of all these? The Spirit of Elijah is already resting on us. The Holy Spirit now lives IN us! May we move with God's Spirit and see a restoration of the things the early church experienced.

Notes of value...

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this. He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air. Well, he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air. My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE and WHOSE WE ARE. You are special - Don't EVER forget it."

Count your blessings, not your problems. "And remember: amateurs built the ark … professionals built the Titanic. If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it.

An exerpt from an article.. An excellent reminder for myself :)

When We Stand Before God...?We must ask ourselves the question. "When I stand before a Holy God to give an account of my stewardship of His flock, what will He say to me?"
He will not care about our popularity, how many books we sold, how big our church or houses were, who we did or didn't know. What He will care about and ask us is, what did we do with His House, His people, and how did we influence our nation and the nations of the world – for eternity. Were we good stewards over the things He entrusted to our care?

Did we build HIS Church, or our own kingdoms?
Did we send many souls to hell because we did not speak the truth? D
Did we water down the Word of God and refuse to talk about sin?
Did we spend all our time teaching them how to succeed in this world, instead of keeping their eyes on the things of God and eternity?
Did we teach them to be salt and light, or did we teach them to compromise?
Did we tell them Jesus is soft and fluffy like a puppy, or that He's the Lord of Glory?
Did we give them meat to eat or just cotton candy and sweets?
Did we cause them to become prey to the enemy, or did we equip them to stand?
Did we equip them to do the work of the ministry, or teach them to chase the American dream?Did we refuse to confront them and just wink at their sin?
Did we really build God's church, or is it weak and frail because of us?
Did we speak the truth in Love? It takes real love to speak the truth, especially when it is not popular!
Did we love the people enough to tell them the uncompromising truth?

What will God say to you, as a leader in His house?
It's Time For An Internal InvestigationFor a true Great Awakening to take place in our nation, it must begin with the Leaders in God's house. We believe God will be moving by His Spirit, conducting a deep internal investigation in His house, and removing everything that is standing in His way. It is time for us to judge ourselves and for judgment to begin in the house of God (1 Peter 4:17)! May our hearts and lives be fully devoted to God and His purposes, no matter what the cost.

"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine." 2 Tim. 4:2.

The Lord is indeed my Provider

Today, I got the perfect pair of pants.. hahaha. in Perth! Can you believe it?!!!!

I went shopping for clothes for work today.. went to Portmans.. tried on a pair of pants.. size 6.. and it fitted! Out of so many years of looking for a pair of business pants that fits.. truly, this is a miracle! HAHA. I always just have to make do with the waist size being a little too big and/or getting the length altered. Of course, with the exception of my tailored pants, which turned out to be still slightly too big. I was wondering whether to even blog this.. like who cares about a pair of pants? But if you know the pains i've been through, even going to a tailor to make a pair pants, just to get one that fits.. you will say this is truly a miracle! It fits! The waist size is fine.. the length is JUST RIGHT. Come on, everyone knows i'm not tall.. and no, this isn't supposed to be 5/6 or 3/4.. hahaha. it's a full-length business pants.. and found in Perth! :)

Okay enough about my pants. But truly, after walking with God over the last 6 years, I've learnt not to be anxious about getting the clothes I need, the kind of food to eat etc.. Though I still have a longgg way to go, God has taught me much in things like these. I really wanted to save time so I could come back and read His Word.. God is truly my Provider, and He multiplies time :)

The Lord is my Provider

I am here to announce... I've got a job!!!!!!

Yes, I have a job now. Finally. Really, finally. At last. And, without PR (permanent residency)! I've been waiting for soooo long. For 6 months! and now, I'm bursting to tell of God's goodness, of how He opened this door to me.

Last November and December, there was a prophecy from an uncle at church.. "Do not worry, God is going to open the door to you very soon. A job that you desire. A good job is waiting for you." Also, in another prophecy.. "God is going to surprise you".

Indeed, this has come to me like a surprise. I was having lunch at Joy's Garden one afternoon and the lady boss, whom I know briefly because I used to pick my cousins up from work, came to talk to me. She asked me whether I was still in uni. I replied that I had already graduated and was looking for work. Straightaway, she turned and took out a name card. She asked me to call the number on it. On the name card was the position of the person and it read "Financial Planner". I was like no, I'm not going to call. This certainly wasn't the job that I desired. Anything but financial planning. :)

But God's ways are indeed higher than our ways. This is one thing that God has been teaching me all this while, throughout the wait for the job. A couple of weeks before I went Joy Garden, I actually got rejected by Deloitte. I was so disappointed because I thought that was the job God planned in advance for me. But it turned out that it wasn't. Anyway, the lady boss of Joy Garden said "Call her". Those words seemed deeper than it normally would have been. It seemed that the Holy Spirit was actually the One saying to me "Call her". And before going back into the kitchen she said, "I don't know why I suddenly asked you about university etc.. maybe it is God's intervention". So i was like.. okay, I think I really should call her since God's ways are indeed higher than my ways and I shouldn't lean on my own understanding. If this really was the open door, then it will be the open door that no man can shut. And, it would be an accounting job as was prophesied.

So I applied for the job. I told the person I was looking for an accounting job. To my surprise, she said 'ok, just send your resume in to my boss and he'll get back to you'. So, it wasn't just a financial planning company! Interview was scheduled to be on Monday (yesterday).

On the day before the interview, at sunday church service, Pastor Benny had a word of knowledge.. "There are some of you who are looking for a job. God is going to open doors, and when God opens a door, no man can shut. Stretch out your hands and receive it, in the manner like you're receiving the job from God, from heaven". (something along those lines, I can't rmb what he said exactly) I felt a weight as I stretched out my hands. Cool stuff huh!

Yes, so now, I am no longer jobless. Finally :) and it is a job that I desire - I've been wanting to do tax accounting and it turned out to be a tax accounting company. I believe nothing is too late, nor too early.. but in all things, God has His perfect timing. and His perfect timing is really perfect as we wait upon Him.

The pay honestly, is really low. hahaha. I was so disappointed when I heard it. and throughout the interview, my mind was on it. =) But since this is the job God has prepared, then like what the uncle prophesied, "A good job is waiting for you".. so it must be a good job, and I believe it. God is going to work in this company in ways my mind cannot fathom. I am going to see His goodness revealed more and more in the days to come! More testimonies huh! :)

God is so real! Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths".

All glory to Jesus!

His Word is full of mystery to me, and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I am learning so much more! there's so much about God I learn each day, Romans is an excellent book. It is a summary of the gospel. The gospel is POWER. Romans 1:16. Awesome stuff. I just couldn't contain my excitement I just needed an outlet to tell people how exciting His Word is! Let Him, too, bring you on a roller-coaster journey through His Word!

Isaiah 58:13-14

'If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath
and from doing as you please on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a delight
and the Lord's holy day honourable,
and if you honour it by not giving your own way
and not doinga s you please or speaking the words,
then you will find your joy in the Lord,
and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land
and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.'

Indeed, when we honour God, when our ways are conformed to His ways, we will find our joy in Him and we will eat the good of the land! :)
